System Maintenance![]() Heat Transfer Fluid InhibitorsOver time, the corrosion inhibitors in heat transfer fluids may become depleted. Heat Transfer Inhibitors can be added to restore anti-corrosion properties. To ensure proper protection for your system and to maintain balance of the patented inhibitor package, Dow offers the following inhibitor packages globally: Heat Transfer Fluid Iron Inhibitor, Heat Transfer Fluid Copper Inhibitor and Heat Transfer Fluid pH Booster. Cleaning & PreparingWhether new or old, heat transfer systems that utilize water or water-containing fluids as coolants are likely to accumulate rust, mineral scales and oily contaminants during construction and operation. These scales and contaminants can drastically reduce the heat transfer efficiency of the system. Dow provides a unique three part cleaning system for new and old systems. NORKOOL™ Cleaner and NORKOOL™ Degreaser have been developed to optimize cleaning and are easy to use. Followed by the use of NORKOOL™ Inhibitor 244, a surface modifier that passivates the cleaned metal surfaces to prevent flash rusting, this three part system ensures that the newly installed thermal fluid, such as NORKOOL™ Coolant does not get depleted.
